James A. Penney III, DDS, PA, Endodontics specializes in root canal treatment and other forms of comprehensive endodontic surgery. We are different from a regular dentist because we see patients who have been referred to us by their general dentist. Our patients don’t see us twice a year like they would a general dentist.
Other than that, our office has a few other characteristics that set us apart from the crowd. Here is what you can expect during your visit.
An unfamiliar environment.
When you visit your general dentist you will probably see familiar faces and a waiting room you’ve waited in a few times before. Our patients are often visiting our office for the first time. We know we aren’t familiar, so we try to be as welcoming and friendly as possible.
A shorter visit.
Most of our patients spend less than an hour at their appointment. Dr. Penney has been practicing endodontics exclusively for many years. His technique is often described as “quick and painless” by our patients.
Massage chairs.
Endodontic offices are equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Usually, that is limited to the equipment our team uses to diagnose and treat your injured tooth. At our office, we took this a step further and also upgraded our dental chairs. A massage chair might seem unnecessary for a visit that won’t take long. We believe it is the small things, like a gentle massage, will help ease patient nerves and make the root canal treatment more comfortable.
Dr. Penney will talk you through the whole process.
Dr. Penney takes the time to thoroughly explain the procedure to his patients. He has performed many root canals over his career. He has worked with a wide variety of cases. So he is great at answering questions and addressing concerns.
When you arrive we’ll do an assessment to get a good view of your injured tooth. We will perform our own X- Ray with digital imaging. Dr. Penney will show you exactly where the problem is at and how it will be fixed.
A dreaded experience turned into a surprisingly good one.
Any better experience when you are expecting the worst is a pleasant surprise. We like to think of the generally negative view most people have of root canals as an advantage. From massage chairs to personalized pain management, we want your experience at our office to be complete and as stress-free as possible.
